Time flies...

Its being months away from family. Wondering how six months went by! Now that I'm comfortably settled here, kind of mixed feeling to return back.

Some of the things I will miss are...
* Starbucks cofe, Dopio Expresso with an inch of steamed milk to be precise :)
* Exchange the car every month
* Freeways, long drives, hikes on weekends (except for the speed limit)
* Hone my cooking skills (with the new Aloo-paratha expert crown)
* Work from home
* Walk to office (though it was only a few times)
* Los Gatos downtown
* Who will ever buy this? look at Santana Row
* Improving US Economy by doing actual shopping at Great Mall, Gilroy and of course amazon.com
* Making my roommates mad with looping Rabba or woh lamhe song
* Meeting/Talking to long-lost friends
* Krispy Kreme doughnuts
* Netflix

Things I wont regret missing ...
* arguing on who should: clean the dirty vessels, get the groceries etc..
* Coin laundry, broken dryer, wet clothes all over my room
* Cornflakes / banana for breakfast
* Waiting for Decocshan to get done early in the morning
* Thinking what to cook on the way to home every evening
* And finally automatic / cruise control cars, felt so cool in the beginning, but its so boring for anyone who is used to manual geared cars :)

and finally things I'm longing for...
* Sunday mornings Benne Dose breakfast at CTR
* Coffee Day Kenyan Safari and hangout with friends
* Raagi Rotti at Nisarga, churi-Muri at first block, Masala puri at footpath gaadi on cunningham road
* Maneuvering Namma Bengaloru traffic with my vrrrrroooming black beauty and dont have to bother about speed limit as you cant go above 40/50 kmph even if you want to...
* Babbar Sher on Radio City FM 91
* Bowling at Amoeba

Things I wont regret missing ...

* arguing on who should: clean the dirty vessels, get the groceries etc.. -- THERE IS A DISHWASHER THAT CLEANS MOST OF THE DISHES :)). IT IS FUN TO CLEAN THE BIGGER DISHES WITH SOAPSUDS!! GROCERY IS FUN, YOU GET THE EMOTIONAL SATISFACTION OF SAVING $0.25 ON BREAD AND YOU WHO ELSE WILL TALK TO YOU OTHER THAN THAT 'JENNA' IN GROCERY CASH COUNTER, WHO IS HALF-HAWAIN AND HALF WHITE AND IS BERRY BERRY PRETTY?

* Coin laundry, broken dryer, wet clothes all over my room -- THE BEST THING WITH THE LAUNDRY AND THE DRYERS IS TO OPEN THEM AND PEEK IN "WHO ALL WEARS WHAT ALL"
:-)))))))). THE SOUNDS OF COINS HITTING THE LAUNDRY IS NO CACHOPHONY. BROKEN DRYER -- REMOVE THE CLOTHES OF OTHERS FROM OTHER DRYERS!! YOU AGAIN GET TO SEE "WHO ALL WEARS WHAT ALL" :))))). WET CLOTHES -- USE DRYER TWICE!! IS NOT THAT OBVIOUS?

* Cornflakes / banana for breakfast-- CORNFLAKES ARE GOOD FOR HEALTH. THEY MAKE YOU SPEND THE DAY WITH ZIPP AND ZAPP. IF YOU EAT SET DOSA FOR B'FAST, ALL YOU CAN DO IS GET SLEEPY LIKE A HEBBAVU.

* Waiting for Decocshan to get done early in the morning-- WHAT IS BETTER THAN MAKING YOUR OWN COFFEE AND SIPPING IT AND WATCHING NEWS ON TELEVISION?

* Thinking what to cook on the way to home every evening-- DON'T COOK EACH DAY. COOK TWICE A WEEK. AND EAT OUT WHEN THE COOKED FOOD GETS OVER!! THAT WAY YOU DON'T PILE UP UNCLEAN DISHES AND YOU DO LIKE AMERICANS DO -- EAT OUT. OR GO FOR QUICKLY FIXED FOOD, EASY DOES IT!! GIVE THOSE TASTEBUDS SOME CHANGE FOR USUAL SPICED UP-CARB REEEH INDIAN FOOD.

* And finally automatic / cruise control cars, felt so cool in the beginning, but its so boring for anyone who is used to manual geared cars :)-- CARS HERE ARE SAFER. THEY MAY NOT HAVE THOSE GANESHA IDOLS ON DASHBOARD, BUT THEY HAVE NICE COMFORTABLE SEATS. AND WHERE ELSE CAN YOU SEE A BLOND BOMBSHELL SPEEDING IN A SPORTSCAR?

Thanks w_u for safe journey wishes :)

There is no place for cooker, bandLe, jaLra, cofe filter etc, etc, in the dishwasher. Grocery store berry pretty talks to every one? I thot she was hitting on me and so i was scared to go :D

Ya, for my bad luck 3 out of dryers decide not to work on the same day, what to do? And I dont have the patience to go and check everyday ;)

Set dasa, idli-chutney, vada-sambar waaahh super healthy food :D

self made coffee: agreed. But still yeddda takshana bisi bisi coffee ready agidre yaar beda antare?

Eating out twice a day not good for health and wealth :)

Cars are definetely safer and it better be becoz the speed is almost twice here. Ganesha on dashboard might save you from looking at blonde in sportscar and crashing into someone ;) BTW, now-a-days, cars back home also have comfortable seats.

ok, I agree with laundry. i just went to get laundry done and all the laundry were occupied. sometimes i hate it. it is too demeaning for a swami lik me to even touch the dirty (well, they are washed) linen of others (in public)
